Every December, our feeds get flooded with colourful stats, top artists, and (let’s be honest) a few unexpected guilty pleasures.

But while listeners are busy sharing their top tracks, artists have their own Wrapped to look forward to.

With Spotify Wrapped 2025 just around the corner, let’s talk about how to get your profile ready, what Wrapped really means for artists, and how you can turn your stats into something way more powerful: a marketing tool that builds your audience and celebrates your year in music.

What is Spotify Wrapped?

It all started with an intern named Jewel Ham, who invented the idea back in 2016. Since then, it’s a staple of every music-lover’s calendar.

Every year we’re gifted a shiny new experience, taking us through our most listened-to songs, favourite artists, total minutes spent listening, unique listening personality traits, and intriguing insights into your musical journey.

For you, as an artist, Spotify Wrapped gives you a chance to engage with your diehard fans and celebrate your milestones. It’s a great promotional tool - if you plan properly!

When does Spotify Wrapped typically come out?

The exact date of Spotify Wrapped launching is a closely-guarded secret - but it’s usually in the first week of December.

Spotify gathers the data for Spotify Wrapped from January 1st through to late October/early November, which means that any streaming you do after that time won’t count towards Wrapped.

As an artist, that means that any music you release or streams your older music gets after late October won’t be counted towards your fans’ Wrapped - and won’t be in your Artist Wrapped either.

Do you need Spotify Premium to get Spotify Wrapped?

The short answer is: no. You don’t need a Premium Spotify subscription to get Spotify Wrapped. Anyone, regardless of which plan they’re on, can access their Spotify Wrapped once it’s been launched. However, Premium users do often get enhanced features and more accurate results.

As an Artist, you get the same level of Wrapped insights as any other Artist inside your Spotify For Artists account. As long as you’ve claimed your artist profile, you’ll be able to see a full picture of your year’s milestones and dig into the demographic data from all your listeners, whether they have Premium or not.

Is Spotify Wrapped accurate?

From January to early-November, Spotify tracks your listening habits across songs, podcasts, and playlists. Streams are counted after just 30 seconds, even when you're offline, ensuring that your year-end stats reflect true activity. However, sessions in private mode or blends are excluded to give a clearer picture.

The algorithm analyses a wide range of data points, factoring in not just time spent listening but also the frequency of returning to certain tracks or artists. While background listening might slightly skew your stats, the overall result is a personalised summary that genuinely captures your musical tastes.

So, yes, Spotify Wrapped is accurate, combining data with your unique listening habits to create a reflection that feels both personal and authentic.

Spotify Wrapped for Artists

Like Spotify users receive a breakdown report detailing their most-streamed songs and favourite artists, Spotify for Artists provides musicians with reports that show their listener statistics. These reports typically include metrics such as total listeners, total streams, hours streamed, and the countries where their music is being played. Additionally, they may feature information about the top tracks, top playlists, and growth compared to the previous year.

How to find your Spotify Wrapped For Artists

Finding your Spotify Wrapped for Artists is easy! Once it launches in December, you can access it directly through your Spotify for Artists account on your phone or desktop. Just head to the 'Wrapped' section, and you're good to go!

After navigating to this section, you'll discover valuable insights about your listeners. You’ll find out where they are tuning in from and how often they stream your tracks. This information is essential for connecting with your audience and enhancing your creative journey! So, get ready to dive in and see how your music is making an impact!

How to prepare for Spotify Wrapped as an artist

Spotify Wrapped is a great opportunity to deepen connections with your most loyal fans. Spotify want to help you make the most of the Wrapped season, so there are a few things you can do to maximise its impact.

Upload a Clip - before November 14th!

This allows you to send a personal message to your top fans, which is one of the best ways to engage and thank your fans for listening to your music. This has to be submitted by November 14th 2025 as a short video that will be featured in your fans' wrapped experience.

You can access this feature by finding ‘Spotify Clips’ or join the waiting list here

Tips when creating a clip:

  • Must be shot vertically for optimal viewing.
  • Keep it under 30 seconds.
  • Focus on personal and engaging content.
  • Ensure there is no music, lyrics, logos, or explicit content within the video.

Add your upcoming Live Shows

More users will be looking at your profile during Wrapped season. Which is why it’s important that you keep your gig listings up to date, so you don’t miss the chance to see you perform live. You can find out more about adding your live dates to Spotify here.

Add a Countdown Page for your next release

Again, because your profile is likely to get more visits in Wrapped season, make sure you’ve added a Countdown Page for your next album! You can find out more here.

Set your Artist Pick

Selecting an artist pick is important because it showcases your work to your fans. It is one of the first things they will see when they visit your Spotify profile. You can choose a single, EP, album, or even a playlist. Make sure this is up-to-date before Wrapped season!

Make sure your Profile & Bio are up-to-date

Wrapped is the perfect excuse to update your Spotify profile. Add new photos, make sure your bio is up-to-date - and make sure that your social media links are working!

How to use Spotify Wrapped as a Marketing Tool

One of the best things about Spotify Wrapped is how easy it is to share! With just a simple graphic at your fingertips, you can create visually appealing content to post on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, and so many more. By sharing your Wrapped, you get to express your gratitude to your fans for their support and listening habits, which strengthens your connection with them. Plus, this kind of organic engagement can lead to new followers and even more streams!

Spotify Wrapped provides you with insights that are perfect for your Electronic Press Kit (EPK) or bio. This shows proof of your growth as an artist over the past year. Highlighting your key achievements and the data behind your success can really catch the attention of music professionals, labels, and potential collaborators. They love to see measurable success, so use your Wrapped stats to illustrate the impact you’ve made!

Wrapped is also an incredible opportunity to engage your fans on a deeper level. It allows you to reflect on who your biggest supporters are and where they’re located. Understanding your audience better means you can create meaningful interactions and tailor your content to resonate with them. Whether it's through special shoutouts or targeted ad campaigns, these connections create a community around your music, fostering loyalty and excitement among your listeners.

In conclusion, Spotify Wrapped isn’t just a highlight reel of your year; it's a powerful tool to promote your music, engage with your fans, and plan for an even more successful year ahead. So, embrace it, share your story, and watch your music journey flourish!
