Identity Music’s record label services
Is there a limit on the number of artists or releases we can have in an Identity Music dashboard?
No! The more the merrier!
Unlike some other music distributors, we don’t place any upload limits on our distribution process. There are no extra fees for singles, EPs or albums and an unlimited number of releases you can distribute with us.
As your catalogue of artists grows, your Identity Music dashboard can handle whatever you upload.
How can our artists transfer their release catalogue from another distributor?
When you sign a new artist who is bringing back catalogue releases over to your label, handling the transfer can be a headache.
For our record labels, though, it’s a breeze.
Your artist will need to provide details of their catalogue, the release UPCs, any track splits, and where the assets were originally distributed, then our support team will be able to advise on the best method of bringing those releases into your label dashboard at Identity Music.
The admin will be handled by us - all you need to do is arrange takedowns with any previous distributors after a 6-week track linking period.
How do you help with managing Spotify’s Discovery Mode for our artists?
Just like for our independent artists, we’ll manage Discovery Mode performance for your record label artists.
If your artists’ releases are eligible for Discovery Mode, we’ll opt them in each month - and we’ll assess their performance at the end of each month, before either opting them in again or removing them from the next month’s submissions.
This ensures that any tracks opted into Discovery Mode are receiving an uplift in performance that balances out the increased revenue cut that Spotify keeps for Discovery Mode streams. We’re pros at spotting trends in the data so we can mitigate any potential issues before they affect your label revenue.

Do you support our artists with playlist pitching?
Absolutely! Landing editorial playlist placements for your artists is one of our specialties.
Our editorial playlist pitching is available to every artist releasing through your record label. Simply submit a pitching request to our team and we’ll handle the rest for you.
Can you help with rights management issues and copyright infringement?
Yes! Digital Rights Management is included in all our record label music distribution agreements, so we monitor any unauthorised usage of your artists’ assets across rights management platforms.
We utilise YouTube’s Content ID and Meta’s Rights Manager tools to track usage of your artists’ releases. When usage of a track is detected, we can monitor, safelist or monetise that asset on your behalf so that you and your artists are claiming all the revenue you deserve.
How does Publishing Administration for record labels work?
Similarly to our Publishing Administration for independent artists, we offer a fully-managed approach to registering your artists’ assets, collecting royalties, and paying out those royalties to the correct parties.
As a record label, you’re able to sign a Publishing Administration agreement with us that covers all or some of your artists’ assets. We register those assets with the relevant publishing bodies and collect any royalties due.
To get started, our Publishing Administration team will need a comprehensive list of assets, artist agreements that assign publishing collection rights to your record label, and your artists will need to complete ID verification checks.
