Prevent fraud & impersonation
Benefit from proactive fraud and impersonation protection to avoid damage to your reputation.

Stopping music fraud in its tracks
Distributing your music globally is just the start of your music’s journey.
Now that it’s out in the world, the focus shifts to protecting it. In the digital world, plagiarism is common and can result in your reputation being damaged and missing out on royalties.
Thankfully, we’re a team of Rights Management experts. For our independent artists and labels, we use a digital fingerprinting approach to track your music around the globe and alert you to any unauthorised usage - all at no extra cost, unlike some other music distributors.
YouTube Content ID Management
YouTube Content ID monitors the use of copyrighted material across the whole YouTube platform (not just YouTube Music), meaning any use of all or part of your track on vlogs, streams or YouTube Shorts will be picked up. If use of your track is detected by Content ID, you can choose to Earn or Track (monitor) usage, keeping full control of how and where your music is being used. Benefit from Content ID at no extra charge as part of your music distribution agreement.

Social Media Rights Management
Social media virality is every artist’s dream - and has been the launchpad for many music careers in the past few years. We help to protect your music on social media so that you can focus on getting as many views, listens and follows as possible. Through Facebook Rights Manager (for Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok’s own rights manager platform, we can identify and monitor any content that uses your audio or sounds - making sure you’re fully in control of how your music is being used and earning every bit of revenue you’re owed.

SoundCloud Digital Rights Management
If your music is distributed to SoundCloud, we’ll harness its digital fingerprint to monitor for any content matches - and automatically block any releases that are found to be using all or part of your track without authorisation. Prevent impersonation, protect your reputation, and make sure your music remains your music on SoundCloud, all at no extra cost.

Prevent impersonation
With attempts at artist impersonation increasing day-by-day, we can protect your reputation from being hijacked by restricting others from uploading to your Spotify artist profile. By adding your Spotify profile to a ‘safelist’, releases must be authorised by you before they’re distributed to your Spotify profile - so nothing unexpected lands on your profile.

Learn more about:
Digital Rights Management
We distribute your music to over 80 global music platforms, but not all of those have native Rights Management functions.
When we talk about Rights Management Platforms, we’re referring to:
- YouTube - via YouTube Content ID
- Facebook - via Facebook Rights Manager
- Instagram - via Facebook Rights Manager
- TikTok - via MediaMatch
- SoundCloud - via SoundCloud Deck
When distributing your music, some platforms allow you to choose whether your music enters the Rights Management tool of that platform. You can distribute to YouTube Music without YouTube Content ID and Facebook and Instagram without Facebook Rights Manager (through the Facebook Audio Library).
Digital Rights Management gives you confidence that your music is protected online.
As a distributor, we’re able to track down unauthorised usage of your music and take appropriate action (whether that’s monetising it, tracking it, or requesting content takedowns). By doing so, we’re protecting your music from being used without your knowledge and helping you to maximise revenue, too.
When you distribute your music to YouTube Content ID in particular, you’ll need to keep in mind that Content ID won’t be aware of any agreements you’ve made with particular channels to allow use of your music.
If there are channels or creators who you’ve approved, please tell our client support team in order to prevent claims being automatically made against that content. We can add YouTube channels to your safelist so that they bypass YouTube Content ID matches.
YouTube has strict guidelines when it comes to copyright and licensing to align with US Copyright Law.
The YouTube Content ID system is a sophisticated tool that scans every piece of content on YouTube and YouTube Music to alert rights holders to any channels using copyrighted material without authorisation.
Rights holders (that’s you, if it’s your music being tracked by Content ID) are given the option to file a Copyright Claim or issue a Copyright Takedown Notice, which results in a Copyright Strike on the offending YouTube channel.
YouTube Content ID covers unauthorised use of audio, video and other types of content that are classed as ‘owned media’. As a rights holder, you have full control over what action is taken on violating content.
YouTube’s Content ID, Facebook Rights Manager and TikTok’s content tool are all incredibly effective, but if they do miss a piece of content that you believe is using your copyrighted material, manual claims can be submitted to platforms.
As experts in Digital Rights Management, we are more than happy to handle manual copyright claims on your behalf. Simply send us the details of the content violating copyright and the asset you believe it to be using and we’ll submit claims for you.
If your track has been composed and recorded by you, hasn’t used any commonly matched sounds (like rainfall or nature sounds) or samples, and has a clearly defined melody, it’s most likely suitable for distribution to Rights Management platforms.
However, if you’re unsure - our Client Management team will be able to advise you!
Rights Management platforms use sophisticated technology to identify whether your track has any matching features with other tracks.
If you’ve hired a producer or paid for a beat/sample, there’s a good chance that other artists have done the same thing - and therefore your track will be picked up as having audio matches with others.
A beat/sample appearing across multiple tracks from different artists, even if all of those artists have properly licensed that beat/sample, will make your track ineligible for distribution to Rights Management platforms.
On YouTube, a Copyright Claim is often called a Content ID Claim - it’s a notification that a piece of content has been identified by Content ID as using copyrighted material, like your music, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that the content will be removed or penalised.
If a video receives a Copyright Claim or Content ID Claim, the rights holder (you) may be able to monetise that content, place ads in the violating video to receive ad revenue, or prevent that video from being shown in certain territories.
A Copyright Strike, on the other hand, is a more serious action taken when a rights holder (you) requests the legal removal of a video due to copyright infringement. A Copyright Strike on YouTube is usually the result of a manual takedown request being submitted by an artist (or us on your behalf) and remains on a YouTube channel for around 90 days. During that period, the channel is no longer eligible to monetise content or live stream. If a channel receives 3 Copyright Strikes, it will be terminated and the user may be banned from YouTube.
