As a music Publishing Administrator, we handle all the administrative tasks that go along with claiming publishing earnings on your music. We register your contributions to tracks with all of the relevant entities, including Performance Rights Organisations (PROs), Collective Management Organisations (CMOs) and Mechanical Rights Organisations (MROs) - so that we can collect earnings on your behalf.

If you’ve contributed towards a track that has been distributed to music platforms (like we do here at Identity Music), you should register with your local PRO to claim publishing royalties. Whether you’re a composer, songwriter, artist, producer or beat-maker, we can work as your Publishing Administrator to collect your earnings.
Publishing Administration is a service we provide exclusively to independent artists and labels who distribute their releases with Identity Music.
To allow us to fully serve every creator fairly and efficiently, our Publishing Administration is only available to signed clients. If you’d like to apply to distribute your music with us to access our Publishing Administration (as well as Promotion, Digital Rights Management or Record Label Services) you can do so here.
A PRO is a Performing Rights Organisation. PROs are entities that collect and distribute performance royalties to publishers (that’s us) on behalf of artists. Performance royalties include revenue earned by live performances and plays on radio or TV.
To collect publishing earnings, you must register with a PRO that works in your country of residence. You can find out more about PROs here.
Identity Music artists registered for Publishing Administration will receive payments quarterly, so long as the minimum payout threshold of $50 USD has been reached.
Payment will be made via bank transfer to an account of your choice.
If you don’t meet the $50 USD payout threshold in a quarter, your balance will be carried over to the following quarter until the threshold is met
If you’re working with Identity Music for your publishing, you will only need to join PRS (Performing Right Society), not MCPS (Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society) - because we will be collecting all mechanical royalties on your behalf.
If you’re handling your own music publishing, you will be able to claim all your publishing earnings if you’re registered with both bodies.
Joining PRS costs a one-off fee of £100. Joining MCPS costs another one-off fee of £100. You can join either or both bodies here.
Yes! Mechanical royalties earned on YouTube can be collected by our Publishing Administration team.
While most royalties for your work are covered by collecting distribution revenues, YouTube Content ID also recognises a Composition Share that can be claimed under your publishing royalties.
